Information about the tournament
|
The tournament will be held on Saturday 1st May 2004. You must pre-register before the tournament via e-mail or at the EuroLeague webpage until 29th April, 12:00 AM. Entry fee to the tournament is 150 Czech crowns (< 5 Euro).
Registration of all participants at the place of event will start at 8:00 and end at 8:45.
Basic groups will be created by drawing players from "baskets with players of equal strength". Every basket will contain 6 names of players. Every player will draw a number at the registration. This number will decide in which group he will take a place. The player with the lowest number will play at group 1, the player with 2nd lowest at group 2, etc.
All participants will be divided into 6 basic groups. The start of basic groups is scheduled for 9:30. After finishing them, there will be one and half hour break for a lunch. At the place of event there will be possible to buy many kinds of non-alcoholic drinks.
Final group A will have 24 participants - 4 best players from each basic group. The other groups will have 24 participants (group B and C) or 18 participants (groups D, E, F and G). Best 16 players from the final group A will promote to play-offs - played best of seven. At the other groups there will no play-offs. The estimated end of the tournament is at 21:00.
Tournament will be played with official international rules, not with their Czech modification. The only difference against international tournaments will be three points awarded for the winner of each match.
There will be used šuplák by Zbyněk Pilař on every game.
There will be used 54 hockey games with 3-4 brand new pucks for each hockey game and of course common figures at each hockey game. For counting results and printing fixtures there will be used the well-known software from two recent World Championships: Plzen and Zurich.
Three best players will get big cups and the special edition of Stiga hockey game produced for the Ice Hockey World Championship in Prague. All the participants of play-off will get some prizes. The winners of groups B, C, D, E, F, G will get cups.
