Czech Open 2007 - tournament

About the tournament

The tournament will be held on Saturday 5th May 2007. You must pre-register before the tournament until 3rd May, 12:00 AM. Entry fee for the tournament is 150 Czech crowns (or 6 Euro). Only the open single tournament will be held.

Registration of all participants at the place of event will start at 8:00 and end at 8:45.

Basic groups will be created by using the world ranking. The draw of the tournament will be proceed after the end of the registration at the place of event.

The start of basic groups is scheduled for 9:30. After finishing them, there will be one and half hour break for a lunch.

Final group A will have 30 participants - 5 best players from each basic group. The results of the mutual matches will be counted into the final group A. The other groups will have 24 participants (group B and C) or 18 participants (groups D, E, F and G). Best 16 players from the final group A will promote to play-offs - played best of seven. At the other groups there will play-offs for the best 4 players played best of five. No placement matches (like bronze medal game) will be held, final table of group will be used for deciding the final placement. The estimated end of the tournament is at 21:00.

Tournament will be played using the official international rules. Three points will be awarded for the winner of each match.

There will be used supláks made by Zbynek Pilar on every game.

During the tournament will be used 54 hockey games with 3-4 brand new pucks for each hockey game. The software known from the last three World Championships will be used for counting results and printing personal fixtures sheets for every player. Foundation 700 years of city Plzen

Three best players will get trophies and prizes (will be described more later). All the participants of play-off will get some prizes. The winners of groups B, C, D, E, F, G will get trophies as well.
